What I'm most excited about sharing this weekend.

This weekend at Ginghamsburg I'll be preaching for the very first time at all 5 worship celebrations at the Tipp City campus. This is a big deal to me. It feels kinda like I've finally gotten the call to the "big leagues" or that I've put in enough of myself that they trust me not to completely de-rail the church.  So, this weekend our focus will be on life groups, and yours truly is the natural fit to teach on one of my favorite topics in the world.

"Life groups" is the term that we use at Ginghamsburg for discipleship communities. They are groups of people who come together to spur each other towards a deeper relationship with Christ, and the more I dig into this Jesus thing, the more convinced I am that it is waaaaay to difficult to do solo. We all need community to face the adversity that is sure to find us during life.

Do you know what I love most about my life groups?

They change who I am. Life groups - groups of people have drastically altered my identity. I am a different person today because of those people who have poured into my life. I look at the world differently and know God more intimately because of the relationships that I have found in community.

There are lots of things in the world I don't understand: tax code, math, and why the American League still has a designated hitter in baseball (just to name a few), but I do understand why we need to do life in community. We were created to be in relationships so that we could see an entire picture of who God has made us to be. People that you are doing life with will always be able to see something about you that you could never see on your own.

Growth requires relationships.

This weekend I am going to share with you my passion, heart, and love for life groups. It is my sincerest hope that you'll join me at one of the 5 worship celebrations on the Tipp City campus or check us out online at Ginghamsburg.org/live.

What do you love most about your life group?
