Kids, Anxiety, and Sports

Kids, Anxiety, and Sports

Dear Friends,

I wish I could tell you that I am a really good parent when it comes to my kids sports. The truth is, I’m not great. I’m loud, sometimes obnoxious, and probably a little too intense. I was asking my kids if I have ever embarrassed them at a sporting event and it was a quick yes from my oldest.

Honestly, it is an area where I know I need to grow. Something about sports just manages to turn up the intensity for me, and (as I’ve observed) for a lot of other parents.

So, I’m doing the only thing I really know how to do; I’m going to dive into it. Dive into the anxiety, the intensity, and the overall feelings around youth sports. In my latest podcast I give a short teaser (about 15 minutes) of thoughts on the topic. However, over the next four weeks we are going to do a deep dive.

Four weeks, four interviews, and a whole lot of thought. I’m excited to be on this journey with you and I pray that this topic influences you as much as it has influenced me.

To make sure you don’t miss future episodes subscribe to the Reclamation Podcast wherever you listen to podcasts. And the best compliment you can give me is to share this episode with a friend or send your thoughts directly to me.

Thank you for letting me share this journey with you!

PS - For the month of August I will be preaching about this same topic at Restoration Church. Tune in to the livestream, or come hang with us live!
