Find Your Voice; Use it Carefully

There is an old quote that says, “Use your voice, even when it shakes.”

Can I be honest with you? There have been lots of voices in my head lately! Voices that say do this,  or do that,  or figure out a  way to do the right thing even though no one has ever been in a situation like this before!

In the pandemic corona world that we currently live in - so many of us have an opinion (I know I do!). So many of us are also quick to share that opinion.

The truth is lots of people are using their voices in a multitude of ways. Some are screaming at what they see at the world.  Others aren’t saying a thing. Sometimes silence is as deafening as a scream.

What is clear is that we all have a voice. How you choose to use it… well that is a whole other conversation.

As someone who is doing their best to follow Jesus we are called to not just use our voice, but to use it carefully.

One of the rough edges in my life is my desire to run my mouth even when I don’t have anything productive to say. And here is the problem: When we aren’t careful with our voice, we end up saying something that doesn’t just damage us it damages the people who we are associated with.

It damages our family.

It damages our work.

And it damages how we represent our faith.

Yes, we all have a voice. I want to encourage you to find your voice. Use your voice. And remember; with every word you speak you are telling people exactly what you believe in.

Also, in this episode of the podcast, I have the privilege of sitting down with the host of She Walks in Truth podcast host Carrie Robaina. In addition to hosting a podcast, Carrie is a business owner, and mentor to women all over the globe. She dives in deep on what it means to find your voice, and how to tie it into a Christ-centered mission.
