2019 In Review, and My Prayers for 2020
I’ll admit that I love the first of the year, not for the idea of resolutions (although I don’t have anything against them), but more for the intentional time, it takes to think back through what was. Like many people in the Dayton community, it was a year full of emotion. From the Dayton tornadoes to the Oregon District shooting, and everything in between - 2019 was a lot. So, as I review the year I thought I would share with you some of the amazing things, some learnings, and what I am praying for in 2020.
10 Things I've Learned After 4 Years of Blogging
Four years of blogging. Four years! I spent as many years blogging as I did in high school. Crazy to think about this whole adventure, It has been one of the most consistent things in my life. I have learned so much from blogging that I thought I would share with you some of my biggest lessons learned:
Do Yourself a Favor – Find Something You Aren’t Good At
Legs bent, knees to the chest, squeeze everything as tight as possible, hold your breath, and keep your eyes on the boat.
It may sound like a weird game of Twister, but it was my mantra as I attempted to become a slalom skier. Beginning at the end of last summer I had made it my goal to get up on one ski, to feel like I could pop up out of the water on one ski and be in complete control.
Five Things I Learned This Christmas Eve
I wouldn’t exactly call myself a Christmas Eve Veteran, but it isn’t as if I’m a rookie either. I am smack dab in the middle of what most would call “journeyman status” as a pastor who is navigating the self-imposed stress of one of the biggest nights of the year.
