#20: Kids, Anxiety, and Sports: Charlie McMahan
Dear Friends,
I have long believed that God doesn’t specialize in perfection, instead God specializes in redemption. Taken the brokenness in our life and turning it in to an opportunity for glory of God to be seen on Earth. Those words could not have been more true for the ministry of my guest on this week’s podcast; Charlie McMahan.
Charlie is the lead pastor at Southbrook Christian Church (one of the largest churches in the Dayton area), and in addition to that is a former All-American athlete. As if that wasn’t enough he also played a role as a coach and as a parent. All of those roles are what make him uniquely prepared to speak into our conversation on Kids, Anxiety, and Sports.
For the past eight years Charlie has been studying this idea, and it is born out of his own pain. Charlie watched his son (Austin) almost end his life because of pressures that center on sport. From that moment till now God has been preparing the way for this path of redemption. Charlie talks about that path and so much more.
