Today is kind of a crazy day for me. Today, Nov 1, is the day I officially started at Centerville UMC three years ago. Three years! I can’t believe how fast the time has gone, and I can’t believe all that God has done in our community in three years.

It usually happens at weddings when the loud and exuberant DJ walks over to the longest married couple in the room and asks the question: What does it take to stay married for as long as you two have? The older man will pause, look around the room and say, “Two words: Yes, dear.” Of course his comedic timing is perfect, and the room erupts with laughter.
This week is always a weird week for me. The celebration of the birth of this blog is something I could have never imagined. Three years ago I set out to blog on a consistent basis, and I still could not have ever dreamed it would have this much impact.
February 15th will mark thirteen years of marriage. When Karen and I got married, we were twenty-two years old and the world was at our fingertips. She had recently started a new job working as a child-care professional, and I was destined to make millions in the financial services field. We had a quaint cape-cod in north Dayton and ginormous plans.
Marriage is the act of making impossible things possible, and ordinary things extraordinary. God gives us life-long partners so that we can practice the love that He has for us, the miraculous love, the legendary love - the love that would be out of reach on our own.
